Storytelling: We started writing our stories yesterday:How Butterflies Came to Be based on the Native American People's Tale

With our maps as a
reference we began writing.

Everyone was keen to get their
introduction written.

We worked hard to hook our
audience in.

We challenged ourselves to use
adjectives and wow words.

Constable Debbie visits Room 11

Constable Debbie visited Room 11 today as part of  our Kia Kaha study.
She talked to us about bullying and the power bullies think they have over others. She talked to us about how to recognise bullying behaviour and what to do about it.
Thank You Constable Debbie.

Bugs & Books Visit with Robinne Weiss

On Thursday Robine Weiss
visited Room 11 and introduced
our Bugs/Insects Topic

Features of an insect.

We pretended to be a
pray mantis waiting to leap on his or her food.
JUMP!

Then we got to hold one.

We looked through the microscope
to get a close
up view of a nit!

Then we felt a beetle walk
on our hands.

Robinne also is a great children's author.
Look out for her. You can buy her books on line.

The seven events were 1. running across the pool 2.Starfish 3.Kickboards 4.Streamlining 5.Freestyle 6.Backstroke 7.A length of freestyle.
Everyone got an iceblock. It was lemonade.
After we had our iceblock all the classes lined up on the sides of the pool and jumped in at the same time and had free play in the pool.
It was a fantastic afternoon!

Wednesday's Wheels Day

Well Done to our 4 boys who
wheeled to school today
either by bike or scooter

Wheels and Walkers! Well Done Guys!

Although Mrs Winton didn't bike to school
on Wednesday she did go for a bike
ride on Friday. Totally AWESOME fun!
Here's some writing we did after checking out our scooters and bikes on Wednesday......

Today at Belfast School it is Wheels Day!
At my house I have a lot of things we can ride like hovaboards, a scooter bike. Usually me and my dad go on our hoverboards and go around the block. My hoverboard's colour is rainbow. I usually go on my bike with my whole family, My bike is a BMX. The colour is pink, green and white. My scooter I go with mum. The colour of my scooter is pink purple.
These are my favourite ride things. I walked today with Ariana.

On Wednesday it is Wheels Day. I walked to school with mum and Boston. It was fun.
I have a pink bike and I have a pink scooter and a pink helmet. I love my bike and scooter. I got my scooter when I turned 5 and it took a lot of wrapping paper.
